Monday Makeover: A Heritage Grill Stenciled Living Room
Stenciled Accent Wall Is Impressive In A Room Makeover
Rise and shine, it's Monday morning my stenciling friends! We hope everyone had a stencil filled weekend and we'd love it if you shared your stencil projects on our Facebook page. Monday might become our official makeover day because after the weekend we often spot tons of fab stenciled makeovers! Do you remember last Monday when Cutting Edge Stencils shared this gorgeous Kerry Damask stenciled dining room?
Well you can read all about that dining room makeover in this blog post. This week we're taking our makeover efforts to a neighboring space, the living room. As the name suggests, the living room can be one of the most lived-in rooms of a home. Whether you choose a casual or more formal decorating style, there's no doubt that you should love the appearance of the space. And just how do we suggest you do that? Well for starters, we think a stenciled accent wall in a room makeover can be pretty darn impressive.
Let's meet Cheryl, the interior designer and creative DIYer behind the blog Dwell by Cheryl, and admire her living room makeover featuring a stenciled accent wall. Cheryl started with a neutral colored living room that had a wallpapered accent wall (see below). The wallpaper bugged her, and in fact, she hated it. One day she decided it was time for a change and the wallpaper was the first to go. She loved the idea of stenciling and after browsing through our stencil options, she selected a trendy Geometric pattern, the Heritage Grill. Cheryl used our clip-on stencil level to ensure the stencil was positioned evenly on the wall and blue painters tape to keep the large geometric design in place. Then she used a roller to paint the stencil pattern. She found our edge stencil to be helpful in completing the design. For the base coat, she chose Lowe's MyColor inspired by Pantone in Seedpearl. Her stencil paint was a custom mix found in the "Oops section" of Lowes, however, you can get this look using Benjamin Moore's princeton gold HC-14. Just look at what a little paint and pattern can do for a space! Here is Cheryl's jaw-dropping gorgeous living room. She had this to say about her newly stenciled space, "It looks so great, right? I LOVE IT! I can't stop staring at it. Seriously addicted." We have to agree that it is pretty lovely to stare at! Great job, Cheryl. We're so happy that you love your stenciled accent wall.
