Styling an Entry With The Symmetry Stencil
A Stenciled Entryway Makeover Using the Symmetry Stencil
Good morning, my DIY friends! Cutting Edge Stencils has a super fun stencil project to share with you today by our pal, Brittany. She is the design enthusiast and DIY decorator behind the blog Addison's Wonderland. Years ago, Brittany fell in love with the look of wallpaper. Since designer wallpaper can be very pricey, she quickly turned to stenciling to get a similar wallpaper look. Let's see how she used paint and stencils to makeover her entryway with this amazing flipagram that she put together: Do you love it or do you love it? We're going to give you a little more eye candy before we spill the beans on how she created this stunning entryway! After moving into her new home, Brittany had a bunch of DIY projects on her list. She decided to recently tackle the entryway. Here is what it looked like before. A beautiful space but if you've been reading Brittany's blog then you already know this doesn't fit her passion for color and pattern. The first thing that Brittany did was paint it Pageant Green by Behr. After it was a beautiful minty hue, Brittany was ready to enhance it with a geometric pattern. She chose the Symmetry Allover Stencil. Brittany used painter's tape to hold the stencil in place and a dense foam roller to paint the pattern. She painted the contemporary pattern using several craft paint colors. If you're trying to recreate this project, she used Anita’s Metallic Craft Paint in Classic Gold, Bronze, and White. She also used FolkArt Acrylic Paint in Spun Sugar. After she painted one section, she would un-tape the stencil and reposition it to stencil a new section. She did this until the pattern was complete on the entryway wall. Once the entire wall was stenciled, Brittany added a gorgeous hot pink accent chair, a book shelf, and some carefully chosen decor elements. Are you ready to see how her stenciled accent wall turned out? Brittany commented this on her blog, "Of course I had to get a bit colorful, but I LOVE the finished product and I challenge you to try this at home and share it with me! (addisonswonderland@yahoo.com)" We love the idea of a stencil challenge! Love this look? Here's How to Get It! Do you love what you see? It's so stylish, we can hardly blame you.
