Sugar and Spice: Nursery Rooms Stenciled So Nice!
Wall Stencil Patterns add a Unique Touch to a Gender Neutral Nursery
Welcome, my
DIY mamas and papas-to-be!
Cutting Edge Stencils is here to congratulate you on expecting your little bundle of joy. Decorating your baby's nursery can be such a fun adventure; from selecting the bedding to choosing the paint colors to adding the perfect design elements such as
wall stencils. I'm sure you want this to be the perfect sanctuary for your little prince or princess so they can drift off into a peaceful slumber!
And that's when Cutting Edge Stencils steps in because we're here to rock your cradle with some inspiring
stencil designs! I've been asked if stencils are only for girls rooms and the answer is absolutely not! We have plenty of stencil designs that would work wonders in a baby boys room. Whether it's pink or blue or you're not quite sure yet, we have the perfect
nursery stencils for your space. And today I'm going to show you two adorable gender neutral stenciled
nursery ideas...
Ikat Zig-Zag Stencil: Gender Neutral Nursery Idea
Meet Audra, the crafty DIY enthusiast behind the blog
The Kurtz Corner. Before you start jumping up and down from excitement, Audra is not quite pregnant yet. She was recently asked by Home Depot and Proctor & Gamble to complete a home painting project. Audra put her thinking cap on and decided to tackle what would one day be her nursery. Not knowing if she would have a girl or boy, Audra chose to create a gender neutral nursery. She found that choosing colors that don’t exclusively identify with either gender like yellows, whites, oranges, greens, browns, grays, etc. is the best way to go. I love how she chose to stencil the wall with multiple colors because this will offer her a lot of flexibility once the baby arrives. Down the road she'll have the ability to highlight the gender with accents. It's a great way to keep the baby's gender a surprise while still designing a beautiful nursery. It's absolutely adorable, don't you think?
Marrakech Trellis Stencil: Navy Nursery Idea
Meet Julie, who is one proud mom-to-be. She posted her adorable stenciled nursery room on the
Project Nursery website and it was selected as a readers' favorite Project of the Month! While Julie created this for her soon to be baby girl, Quincy, it's really a great example of a nursery design that could be considered gender neutral. Julie is not your traditional 'pink is for girls' fan. She loves dark colors and bold patterns like the Moroccan
Marrakech Trellis Stencil. The rich color of the navy walls, accented with pops of coral, and the amazing wall touches make this project so chic and elegant. If Julie was having a boy, this room could easily work if she shifted the color of her accents slightly darker to a red. Julie wanted an extra special nursery and I'd say she achieved it!
