Stenciled Floor and Rug Inspiration

Hopefully it will inspire you to try stenciling on your own rug or floor for your next DIY project. Anemone Grand flower stencil floor This painted and stenciled floor by Anna from Nova Scotia, Canada definitely makes a huge statement. Using a wall art stencil to add some funky flare to your apartment or home floor not only is so much fun, but is fast, easy and a great project for a stenciling beginner. We have so many large flower stencils to choose from including the Anemone Grande Medium used here, the Chrysanthemum Grande, Dahlia Grande, Peony Grande, Tree Peony Grande, Zinnia Grande and more! If you have fallen in love with the look above, use Benjamin Moore Pear Green as the background color and Burnt Peanut Red as the Anemone Grande stencil color. DIY stencil floor Yellow is all the rage these days and is such a lovely paint color especially to use in a sun room, kitchen or porch area. It is so fresh and really lifts the mood. To get a similar look try using Cutting Edge Stencils' Zinnia Grande Medium. For colors, use Benjamin Moore Banana Yellow as the background and Creme Brulee as the stencil color. Shipibo Wall stencil DIY decor This stenciled rug by Creatively Living is so bold and ballsy but boy does it look great! You have to see the way this rug looked before it got its Shipibo Allover stencil makeover. Geometric stencils are great choices for rug up-dos. We have so many really great and diverse stencil patterns to choose from to fit everyones design aesthetic. Try the Zamira Allover stencil for something a little more intricate, or even a damask pattern to get a modern regal look. There are endless possibilities. Purchase a large sisal rug (they have very affordable ones at Ikea if there is one in your area) and use Benjamin Moore Jet Black as your stencil color to get a similar look. Paisley stencil DIY decor Lovely Etc. blog truly transformed this plywood floor with the Paisley Allover stencil. Paisley pattern is such a customer favorite right now and why wouldn't it be? Originating in India and Iran, the Paisley pattern has beauty that has thrived and flourished over the centuries. It's twisted teardrop shape can been seen in so many beautiful textiles and is reminiscent of the colorful and playful clothing of the Summer of Love in the 70's. Incorporate this retro pattern into your own home and you won't be disappointed. To get a similar look as Lovely Etc. use Benjamin Moore Witching Hour as the background color and Stone White as your stencil color. She used the Ikat Samarkand and it really transformed the whole room. The idea of creating a stenciled "rug" was genius and frames out the bed perfectly. To see how she did it check out The DIY Showoff tutorial. stencil DIY home decor CRAFT Volume 09- Grace Bonney, in her DIY Design column, project by Catherine Weis If you have an old rustic wood floor, adding some large graphic ornaments like this hand-printed stencil pattern adds the perfect amount of design and color to compliment the rustic background. We are so inspired by these large ornamental patterns we plan on creating some of our own so that they are easily accessible to you. For example The Idea Room stenciled a bath mat with Cutting Edge Stencils' Damask Anna to match the towels. Doesn't it look beautiful? Small stencil projects still have a big impact so start small and then build your confidence so that you are ready to take on more super fun DIY projects. Try using some painters tape to create stripes in various colors and you will get this psychedelic colorful striped look. Too colorful?
