Stenciling a Bohemian Woodland Shared Bedroom
Stencils Are A Stylish Decorating Idea For A Shared Kids Bedroom
Good morning, my DIY mamas! Having siblings share a bedroom is a common situation for many households. Designing that shared bedroom can be a total challenge especially when the shared bedroom is between a brother and sister.
Cutting Edge Stencils is here to provide inspiration for that decorating challenge! A shared space takes a bit of extra planning, but the result can be an awesome room and lasting sibling memories. Let's take a look at a bohemian woodland shared bedroom makeover for two lucky siblings.
We'd like to welcome back Ann Marie, the
furniture and home decor revamping mamma behind the blog
Twice Lovely. Ann Marie's daughter had an adorable little girl's room but there were plans to make it a shared sibling bedroom to include her baby brother. Here is what the room looked like before it was a shared bedroom.
It was the perfect space for a little girl but Ann Marie needed to be more gender neutral. So she started looking on Pinterest for inspiration. Then she spotted two matching twin patchwork quilts on Ebay for $40. She was super excited about her find and knew it was the perfect starting point for designing the room. Ann Marie created this mood board to help gather all of her ideas in one place.
Ann Marie decided she wanted to create a Bohemian Woodland themed kids room. She said, "Boy/girl shared bedrooms can be a real design challenge. I hope this room, which is not too girly and not too masculine, but just fun, bright, and whimsical, gives you some good ideas if this is a design dilemma that you are facing in your home." The plan included a nature inspired wall pattern in a buttery yellow around the top section of the wall and teal-blue color around the bottom. Ann Marie selected our
Birch Forest Allover pattern, one of our most popular woodland-inspired designs. Are you ready to see the amazing new shared bedroom that Ann Marie created for her son and daughter?
Ann Marie had this to say about the stencil, "I used the
Birch Forest Allover Stencil from Cutting Edge Stencils as a running border at the top of the room, which really set the mood for the whole design."
Here is a close up of her Birch Forest stenciled border in the pretty buttery yellow hue.
To complete the space, she added a fun and eclectic wall gallery.
