Stencils Are An Inexpensive Way To Achieve A Faux Bone Inlay Pattern

Happy Wednesday, my DIY design enthusiast! Cutting Edge Stencils is curious if you've you been ogling those gorgeous bone inlay decor items like we have? From Wanelo to Pinterest, we have spotted this designer pattern everywhere! We've also noticed the designer price tag that seems to go along with it. Can you say sticker shock? The good news is that several of our stencil patterns are just perfect for recreating that beautiful bone inlay look and for a fraction of the cost. Today we're going to share with you two easy and inexpensive stencil projects that were inspired by high-end and pricey bone inlay decor. While browsing decor sites online, Kate had spotted some bone inlay beauties. So pretty and yet so pricey at the same time. A small box or tray with this beautiful pattern can cost several hundred dollars. Kate put on her DIY thinking cap and decided to steal the look by stenciling one. She chose our Nagoya Craft Stencil because it closely resembled the bone inlay pattern. Then she purchased a basic wooden tray from Target. For the step by step, make sure you check out her post. She had this to say, "The result it a really pretty geometric pattern that mimics bone inlay for much less." PS. She’s hosting a stencil giveaway on her blog right now that will give three lucky winners a $50 stencil credit, so go enter! Shelley admits that she had been eying those beautiful bone inlay mirrors. They are gorgeous but super expensive. In fact, we've spotted them around the shopping sphere for $379! Since a designer mirror wasn't in Shelley's decor budget, she decided to create her own using our Indian Inlay Stencil ($34.95). She had an old piece of a mirror laying around from a previous project. First, Shelley built a simple wooden frame around the mirror and painted it black. Then she stenciled the inlay pattern in white using acrylic craft paint. It turned out jaw-dropping gorgeous and Shelley thought it was a super simple project to complete. It was so easy that Shelley says, "I have a second scrap piece of mirror and I'm planning on making this mirror a twin sister. " Awesome!
