We'd like you to meet Mariella Cruzado, the Interior Decorator & Stylist behind the blog Splendor Styling. Marielle had a guest room that she also used as her home office. At first the space had a mish mosh of furniture in it that she had acquired along the way. Mariella worked to reduce the amount of furniture and create a space that was visually pleasing. Here is a snapshot of the guest room/home office:
Her space was actually quite stylish but it lacked the creative quality that Mariella needed to help inspire her work. Mariella wanted the space to be chic and glam. Here is the inspiration board that Mariella put together for her new home office.
Marielle commented, "I love the idea of having a textured wall with floating shelves. To minimize costs, I've decided I will use paint and a stencil to make it happen myself." Wall stencils can easily mimic the look of pricey wallpaper. So she browsed our large collection of wall patterns and fell in love with the Herringbone Stitch Allover Stencil. This Geometric wall pattern is super trendy.
With her stencil in hand she was ready to start painting! Mariella wanted a subtle pattern on her accent wall so she chose to paint the geometric pattern in a creamy beige, Benjamin Moore's Temporal Spirit 965. She used blue painter's tape to hold the Herringbone Stitch pattern in place and a dense foam roller to paint the pattern on the wall.
Mariella used our clip-on stencil level to help ensure the pattern is evenly placed on the wall.
After each section was painted, she would un-tape the stencil and reposition until the entire wall was painted.
We love the texture that the subtle pattern painted on the accent wall brings to the home office.
Mariella commented, "This was my first time stenciling a whole wall and I love the final results!" We do too!
