Moroccan Stenciled Accent Wall In Glamorous Metallic Gold

Welcome back, my stenciling friends! Cutting Edge Stencils has always had a fascination with gold. Remember this post? Gleaming, glittering, and totally glamorous, the only thing we love more than this precious color is stencils painted in gold! A metallic gold pattern instantly adds sparkle to any home. What can we say? There is just something about throwing a splash of warm metallic in a room that makes it seem classy and interesting. And to prove our point today we're sharing a living room accent wall that was stenciled with our popular Trellis Allover Stencil in metallic gold. We'd like to welcome back Sree, the home decor enthusiast/self proclaimed fashionista behind the blog I Think I Love It. Awhile back she had stenciled her gorgeous blue master bedroom using our Zinnia Grande Flower with Valspar's Granite Crystals to give it a metallic shimmer. Stunning, isn't it? Well we all know how it goes once you're bitten by the stenciling bug, it's hard to stop. Shortly after completing her master bedroom makeover, Sree reached out to us about a second stencil project. Her living room was feeling a bit dull. Here is the space. Sree planned to freshen up her living room with a Moroccan pattern, our Trellis Allover Stencil, and golden buttermilk metallic paint from Ralph Lauren. She used blue painters tape to adhere her stencil to her accent wall. This worked best in keeping the large trellis pattern in place. Then she used a roller to paint the stencil pattern. She was careful not to load too much paint on her roller because this would have cause the design to bleed. Here she is working through the stenciling process. After each section was painted, she would untape the stencil and realign to continue the pattern. Sree did this until her entire accent wall was painted. Once her entire accent wall was stenciled, Sree added a starburst mirror, mirrored side table, and armless accent chairs with a damask print. Are you ready to see how it all turned out? The gold stenciled wall is jaw-dropping gorgeous. Sree commented, "I cannot explain how beautiful the wall turned out. The Trellis Stencil was super easy to use!"
