A Home Office Makeover Featuring the Tea House Trellis Pattern
Stencil Designs Add A Dash of Style To an Office Accent Wall
Good morning, my
Cutting Edge Stencils friends! A room overhaul is not always in the budget so if you're looking for a quick and affordable way to freshen up a space, a
stencil design may be your ideal option! Today we are sharing a stenciled home office makeover featuring the
Tea House Trellis Stencil. Let’s take a look...
We'd like to introduce Lynn, the creative crafter behind the blog
Nourish and Nestle. She was one of the participating bloggers for the One Room Challenge (ORC). The ORC was designed by Linda from Calling it Home and its purpose is to have DIY bloggers put their creativity, perseverance and patience to test by completing a room makeover in six short weeks.
Lynn was excited to sign up for the one room challenge because she wanted to give her craft room a facelift. Her space was bold and full of color and she wanted to take it in a new, more neutral direction. Here is what her home office looked like before the makeover.
The space was energized with color and pattern and since Lynn spends so much time in there crafting and working, she wanted a more peaceful tone. She put together a design board (you can view it
here) featuring neutral hues, soft fabrics, and an oversized
geometric wall pattern. While Lynn completed several DIY projects in this one room makeover, we are going to focus on the
stenciling!
Lynn embraced the idea of adding a
wall pattern to an accent wall in her home office Stenciling a wall design allows you to achieve a wallpaper look for a fraction of the cost. Lynn browsed our large collection of
geometric stencils and fell in love with the
Tea House Trellis Allover Stencil.
The first thing she did was give her craft room a fresh coat of paint using Behr White. With her
geometric stencil in hand, she was ready to start her project! Lynn placed her Tea House Trellis Stencil on her accent wall. She used blue painters tape to hold the stencil in place on the wall. Then she poured her paint into a small tray and painted with a dense foam roller. Lynn painted the
geometric wall pattern using Behr's Creamy Mushroom.
Once the stencil was complete, Lynn revealed
8 steps to successful stenciling on her blog. Then she revealed her stenciled home office. Let's take a look!
You can read about all of the DIY projects that Lynn completed to give this room its neutral yet stylish look on her
blog. Here is a close-up of the pretty
wall stencil pattern. Lynn commented, " So, do I love my stencil wall? Why, yes I do, thank-you very much! It really adds that certain ‘je ne sais quoi’ that I was looking for in my office."
