A Stenciled Hollywood Regency Living Room Makeover

Stencils Add Glamour To A Living Room Makeover

Good morning, my Cutting Edge Stencils friends! Awhile ago we touched upon an emerging design trend called, Hollywood Regency. The modern version of this design trend includes luxe fabrics, delicate patterns, lacquered furniture, and chandeliers with crystals. Oh, and how could we forget that it also includes our wall stencils. Today we're going to take a look at a gorgeous living room makeover that captures the essence of this glamorous style. Well it appears that Carol has been bitten by the stenciling bug because she back to creating beautiful spaces using our stencils. This time she's transforming her living room. Here is what it looked like before. Living room before its Hollywood Regency makeover using a stencil. We have to say we love the country chic setting but Carol wanted to glam this space up and give it the same Hollywood Regency vibe that she had given her bedroom. The first thing Carol did was paint her living room a silver blue called Mountain Air by Sherwin Williams and add crown molding. Then she considered adding a wallpapered accent wall near her entry. Wallpaper is super expensive and a nuisance to put up. So you imagine her excitement when she stumbled upon our stencils. Carol said, " Once I looked at the price of wallpapers... I ran....Not walked... to their webpage! For a fraction of the cost of wallpaper you can stencil any pattern, in any color." Carol chose our Flock of Cranes Stencil, a graceful depiction of the migration of birds. She used blue painter's tape to hold the stencil in place and she painted the pattern in a soft shimmery silver. After the stencil was complete, Carol added the final decorating touches to complete her Hollywood Regency inspired look. You can catch her tutorials on her blog.
