A Tiny Nursery With Big Stencil Style
Stencils Add Patterns and Personality To A Nursery
Good morning, my Cutting Edge Stencils friends. Although the nursery is for the tiniest member of your home, it presents a big decorating opportunities. That's where our stencils step in! They are the perfect way to add pattern and personality to your space. They can help you achieve a wallpaper look without the hassle. Today we're going to share a modern nursery rockin' a stylish Moroccan pattern that is sure to inspire.
We'd like to introduce you to Katy, the loving Mama to an adorable baby boy and blogger behind Kick It Together. When Katy and her husband found out they were expecting a baby boy, they were beyond thrilled. She started planning the nursery for her little bundle of joy. Katy commented, "I am a DIYer so I wanted my son's nursery to be modern and unique. I wanted to do a lot of projects myself." Part of that to-do list included an accent wall in the space. Since wallpaper can be very costly and such a hassle to put up, Katy decided to stencil her accent wall. She chose the large size of our Rabat Allover Stencil, a popular Moroccan inspired wall pattern.
The walls of the nursery were painted in a color similar to Benjamin Moore’s Crystalline AF-485. Then she painted the Moroccan pattern in a white hue similar to Benjamin Moore's Steam AF-15.
She used blue painters tape to hold the stencil in place and a dense foam roller to paint the pattern.
Katy would remove the stencil after the pattern was painted and reposition it so she could stencil the entire wall. She carefully bent the flexible stencil in the corner to achieve a completed look.
The remaining three walls were left green. After the walls were painted, Katy completed several other DIY projects to give her space a hand-crafted touch. Are you ready for the big reveal? Here is Katy's stylish nursery.
