Good morning, my Cutting Edge Stencils friends! Are you ready to ascend and descend in style in a statement-making stairway? It's easy to pass by those undecorated spaces everyday and think someday you'll get to it. Let's make today the day that we cross those projects off the list! Stencils are the perfect way to add pattern and personality to your space. Today we're sharing a stairway makeover that is sure to inspire. Let's take a look... Angela has been working on updating her house with one DIY project at a time. Recently her stairway popped up on that list. She felt like it was the first thing guests spotted when they entered her mudroom and it was in desperate need of a makeover. Angela commented on her blog, "Not only did it need new, fresh paint, but it needed some definite style and creativity to add impact and interest." Here's what it looked like: A before shot of a stairway. http://www.cuttingedgestencils.com/products/little-diamonds-pattern-stencil-for-walls Angela chose to freshen up the trim by painting it a soft white. Then she painted the hallway walls a soothing cream hue. The fresh coat of paint brightened up the space but Angela wanted to give it a dose of personality. She decided to stencil an accent wall on the landing of the stairway. Angela browsed our online stencil collection and chose the Little Diamonds Allover Stencil, one of our playful geometric stencil patterns. She used blue painters tape to keep her stencil in place and a stencil brush to paint the pattern. The clip-on stencil level helped ensure that her geometric pattern was placed evenly on the wall. Here she is working through the project: A stencil tutorial on how to stencil a stairway hallway using the Little Diamonds Allover Stencil from Cutting Edge Stencils. http://www.cuttingedgestencils.com/products/little-diamonds-pattern-stencil-for-walls Once the stenciling was complete, Angela added a DIY stair runner and some window treatments.
