An Adventure Themed Stenciled Nursery
Good morning, my
Cutting Edge Stencils friends. Revamping an old space into a nursery can be tons of decorating fun. There's no other place in a home where whimsy and youthfulness can be brought to the forefront. Choose a design scheme that fits your personality and then enhance it with
stencils. Wall patterns are the perfect way to add texture and personality to your nursery. They achieve a wallpaper look without the hassle and expense. Today we're going to take you on a stenciling adventure featuring a nursery.
We'd like to introduce you to Anne, Adam and Lauren, the decorating team behind
Apartment CPR. The creative group was excited to land their first nursery project. A loving mother and father had reached out to them to help design and decorate their future baby's nursery. The parents were the adventurous type that enjoyed hiking, camping, and pretty landscapes. Their current home was filled with exposed brick, repurposed wood elements, and rustic decor. The baby's future nursery was located right off the master bedroom. It was currently being used as a small office. Here is what it looked like before:
Anne, Adam and Lauren decided that an adventure themed nursery was perfect for this new family. They put together this color scheme and incorporated this rustic piece of inspiration. They mentioned on their blog, "Navy with natural wood grain really set the tone and we paired that with a few other colors to create our palate for the room.
This creative team chose to incorporate a wall pattern into the space. Since Anne is the master of stencils, she was tasked with finding the perfect design for then the nursery. She said, "We chose an
Indian Arrows Allover Stencil to accent the two smaller walls to create the illusion of a larger space. By using that pattern all the way up the wall we drew focus to the height of the ceilings. "
She painted the wall white and then stenciled the arrow pattern in a dark gray hue. She used blue painters tape to hold the stencil in place and a dense foam roller to paint the pattern.
After each section was painted, Anne would untape the stencil and reposition until the entire wall was complete. Anne painted two walls with this trendy pattern.
Once the walls were painted, the
Apartment CPR team added wooden shelves, a faux fur throw, and striped curtains. Are you ready for the big reveal? Here is the adventure themed nursery.
Here is a close-up of the eye-catching arrow stenciled pattern.
We love how Apartment CPR set out a goal for this and made their vision come true!
