Stencils Add Big Patterns and Bold Color To A Nursery
Good morning, my Cutting Edge Stencils friends. Are you planning a nursery for your future little bundle of joy? Stencils are the perfect way to add pattern and color to your nursery to achieve a wallpaper look without the hassle. Today we're going to share a stylish aqua and gold nursery that is sure to inspire.
We'd like to introduce you to Lindsey, the loving Mama to an adorable baby girl. When Lindsey and her husband found out they were expecting a baby girl, they were beyond thrilled. She started planning the nursery for her little bundle of joy. Traditional girl themes like flowers and butterflies did not fit the couples personality. She called her design style, "Eclectic; I love to mix prints and styles. I tend to go a little over the top." Lindsey fell in love with aqua and gold bedding from Caden Lane and decided to use it as her inspiration.
Pretty, refreshing, and super stylish. We love it! Once she had a color scheme in mind, she started putting together the rest of the pieces of her nursery. Her goal was to incorporate big patterns and bold colors into the space. To create the perfect nursery, she chose to paint an accent wall behind the crib. She chose our Ikat Zig Zag Allover Stencil, a popular chevron inspired wall pattern. She painted the wall in Modern Master Metallic Gold then stenciled the zippy pattern in white. She used blue painters tape to hold the stencil in place and a dense foam roller to paint the pattern.
The remaining three walls were also painted in white. After the walls were painted, Lindsey added some black, white, and aqua decor accessories, which we'll get to in just a bit. Are you ready for the big reveal? Here is Lindsey's stylish nursery.
Lindsey had this to say about her finished space, "The stenciled wall is a favorite. I have trouble committing to wallpaper. Using a stencil allowed us to achieve the same look and gave us peace of mind that we could easily paint over it."
