A Stenciled Recreation Room With the Birch Forest Stencil

Today we are sharing a fun yet stylish family room makeover using our Birch Forest Allover Stencil.
We'd like to introduce MJ, the proud mama and creative DIYer behind the blog Living The Dream. MJ has a large basement that she uses as a recreation/family room. Here is what it looked like before the makeover.
She describes it as being "meh" in terms of style and personality. The gray walls didn't really speak to the family's nature loving attitude. MJ and her husband considered wallpapering an accent wall but quickly shot that idea down since wallpaper can be expensive and a hassle to put up. That's when she discovered our wall stencils. A painted wall pattern is a great alternative to wallpaper. MJ fell in love with our Birch Forest Allover Stencil and she also purchased stencil essentials kit.
The first thing she did was paint the wall using Sherwin Williams Pure White. With her stencil in hand, MJ was ready to start stenciling! She used blue painters tape to adhere the stencil to the wall and a dense foam roller to paint the pattern.
MJ painted the nature inspired pattern using gray paint that she had leftover from another project. To ensure the pattern was straight, she used our clip-on stencil level. After each section was painted, she would un-tape the stencil and reposition so she could stencil the entire wall.
MJ moved her kid's toys back in to place. She had this to say about her stencil project, " All in all, stencilled trees equals complete awesomeness. love the low cost, big impact projects. "
It's amazing how a simple wall pattern can open up a space and make it seem brighter!
