A Teen Girl's Bedroom Featuring the Zinnia Flower Stencil
Good morning, my Cutting Edge Stencils friends. You finally finish decorating your little girl's room when you realize she's not so little anymore. Not only has she physically grown but her style and decor preferences have also changed. It's time for a room update! A room makeover doesn't have to break the piggy bank. In fact, sometimes our wall stencils paired with a fresh coat of paint is enough to style blast a bedroom into the teen years. We'd like to welcome back Anne, the DIY decorator behind the blog White Lace Cottage. This is not Anne's first stencil project. In fact, she has stenciled several areas of her home and loves the fact that she can easily update a space with paint and pattern. Naturally she turned to Cutting Edge Stencils when her daughter's room needed a teen makeover. Here is what her space looked like before:
It was a pretty space with sweet touches but Anne was hoping to give it a teen vibe. Her daughter helped select a color scheme of gray, white, and a splash of turquoise. She painted the walls a soothing shade of gray using Zircon from Sherwin Williams. Anne felt the room needed pattern to bring it to life. She browsed our large collection of wall stencils and settled on two patterns, the Wake Up and Be Awesome and the 3 piece Zinnia Flower Stencil Kit.
With her stencils in hand, Anne was ready to stencil! She used painter's tape to hold the Wake Up and Be Awesome stencil in place and a stencil brush to paint the pattern in Heirloom Traditions Synergy. For the 3 piece Zinnia Flower Stencil Kit she used a dense foam roller to paint flowers in Heirloom Traditions Synergy, Thunderous, and a metallic silver.
