We'd like to introduce Treana, the DIY decorating enthusiast behind the blog
House of Bennetts. Treana has been working on a basement makeover with one DIY project at a time. When she bought her house, she also purchased a
Rabat Allover Stencil. This popular Moroccan pattern has been stealing hearts since it was designed!
She knew she would use the pretty wall pattern somewhere in her home and after careful debate she chose to paint it in the basement laundry room. Treana said, "I figured that this relatively small space would be a good one to take this puppy for a spin." The laundry space was located in the basement next to a second kitchen. The first thing she did was paint the laundry room Benjamin Moore Hale Navy HC-154.
After her laundry room was painted in luxurious rich navy hue, Treana was ready to start stenciling. She used blue painters tape to hold the stencil in place on the wall. Then she poured her paint into a small tray and painted with a dense foam roller. Treana chose to paint the pretty Moroccan pattern in a creamy white. She found the clip-on stencil level to be especially helpful in the stenciling process.
After each section was painted, she would un-tape the stencil and reposition until the entire wall was painted.
