Funky Wheel Wall Kitchen Now let's meet Mandy! Mandy is the creator of the blog Sugar Bee Crafts, and Mandy cha chas real smooth! This DIY diva used our Funky Wheels on the walls AND floor of her home! Mandy's bringing her home's interior design to the top like she'll never never stop! (sick of this pun yet?) Slide to the left and let's take a look at how Mandy used this stencil paint idea to redecorate her home! (OK I'll stop with the song now ;) The first time Mandy used our Funky Wheels was on the walls of her kitchen! She has vaulted ceilings and the empty space above her cabinets had been killing her! The previous owners used wallpaper to fill the void, but Mandy tore that down and had a better idea: Funky Wheels! She bought Cutting Edge Stencils Funk Wheel Wall Stencil in size large, and went to town on her kitchen's vacant wall! Before/After painting Funky Wheel Wall Stencils from Cutting Edge Stencils! Since Mandy was a tiny bit impatient to see the results, she overloaded her roller with black paint and in turn had a little bleeding occur! (For clean, pristine lines, make sure to use minimal paint on your stencils!) Mandy daringly stood atop her cabinets and the refrigerator to reach the space on the wall that she wanted the design to cover, and with the help of her five-year old daughter's "keen" eye, placed the wheels where they "fit." Although Mandy had only bought one stencil, she painted the pattern in two colors (black to tie in the built-in desk, and yellow to tie in the curtains) and two sizes! To vary the size of the stencil, Mandy left the outside rim of the large stencil unpainted to make a smaller design (so smart)! Mandy couldn't believe the great results she got with the stencil pattern, and was so pleased with how the stencil was reusable as opposed to wall decals! Funky Wheel Wall Plywood Rug The next year, Mandy stenciled a $20 piece of plywood that would sit under her computer chairs and over her rug in the family's craft room. She named this home decor piece her "plywood rug," even though it is in fact a wood board! Mandy chose this much more fun and funky option of stenciling wood over buying expensive, clear plastic chair mats! Maybe it's time to get rid of your boring chair mats and give this decorating idea a try yourself! Stencil a wood board for smooth support for under your computer chairs! After purchasing the 4x8 board, Mandy stained it to add a rich color to the wood. Then she stenciled the Funky Wheels in blue and red (we recommend Benjamin Moore paint for the best color consistency) and differing sizes all along the board with random placement! To seal the design, Mandy sprayed the board with Crystal Clear Finish from Krylon! We love this fabulous stencil idea! For more home decorating ideas: Thanks for reading, and happy stenciling!
