We'd like you to welcome back Erika, a creative DIYer from Cutting Edge Stencils. Erika decided to put an exotic twist on one of the walls in our office. Mandala stencil on an accent wall.
Let's walk through the steps for completing this project. The first thing she did was choose a
Mandala pattern for this project, the Rangoli Mandala Stencil. This
Rangoli Mandala Stencil was inspired by the beautiful Rangoli art of India.
With the gorgeous Mandala stencil in hand she was ready to start
stenciling! Erika used blue painter's tape to hold the stencil in place. You could also use spray adhesive on the stencil which would help hold it in place and reduce bleeding.
For this project, Erika used the 30 inch Rangoli Mandala Stencil and four paint colors using a stencil brush. She started with a beige hue, FolkArt Honeycomb.
She made sure she brushed off any excess paint on a piece of paper towel. Too much paint will cause the design to bleed. Then she stenciled the next color, Benjamin Moore's Palm Coast Teal.
Erika added a burst of vibrant color using Benjamin Moore's Racing Orange and New York State of Mind.
When all parts were finally painted, Erika peeled back the stencil to reveal the design.
Once the entire design was stenciled, Erika stepped back to admire the beautiful
