Happy HUESday, my color enthusiasts! If you've been following the blog lately then you've seen that Cutting Edge Stencils has been stenciling colors across the spectrum. Just yesterday we featured this pretty vivacious stenciled dining room using our Ikat Samarkand pattern in purple. Do you love the adventurous use of color in this space? But sometimes as much as we love stenciling high contrast hues, we also love stenciling soft, subtle shades of white. Yup, you read that correctly. Today we're taking a break from those bold colors to chat about stenciling the color white. It's a hue that is often associated with cleanliness, purity, and softness. It can be endlessly versatile and its reflective properties make it ideal for enlarging small or poorly lit spaces. When done correctly, a white on white room can be a restful and beautiful space. Let's take a look at some stenciled white beauties... Stenciling white on white for a soft subtle stenciled pattern look using Cutting Edge Stencils like the African Kuba pattern. http://www.cuttingedgestencils.com/ You're going to want to stop and stare at this first gorgeous space. Soft, subtle, and yet oh-so STUNNING! Art Works and Design painted this two-story circular stairwell using our Anastasia Damask stencil. Are you curious as to how they pulled off this pretty look? They said their secret was using a Benjamin Moore metallic as a base coat and then stenciling the damask pattern in a flat version of the same white hue. We love it! She wanted a nursery fit for a princess and we think she totally succeeded! She painted the nursery walls using Benjamin Moore's bare OC-98 and then stenciled the Gabrielle Damask pattern in Delta Creative Ceramcoat (pearl finish). Kelly has this to say about her stenciled space, "It's very subtle and shimmery during the day, but at night – wow! It really pops on the walls. I am so in love with it. " Aw, we are too! We'd love to snuggle in Ashley's serene bedroom oasis. The blogger behind Domestic Fashionistas wanted a luxurious all white bedroom where she could escape the daily grind. She said, "Patterned walls and lush bedding make our room an oasis to rest our heads at the end of the day.” To get the patterned wall effect without investing in pricey wallpaper, Ashley used our Rachel’s Garden Allover Stencil. It instantly adds some depth to the all-white walls and provides that luxurious statement she was trying to achieve. To get a look similar to this consider using Benjamin Moore’s simply white OC-116 and moonlight white 2143-60.

Folding laundry might be an enjoyable task in this white on white stenciled laundry room. Dana from House Tweaking, decided her laundry nook needed a stenciled flair. She preferred a more subtle surprise which is why she chose to stencil two shades of white. Dana selected the African Kuba Stencil and painted it in Benjamin Moore white dove OC-17. She says, "I’m really happy with how it turned out. I especially like the tone-on-tone effect. It makes the pattern look like it’s glowing." We think it's so pretty!
