Stencils Add Charm To A Kitchen Backsplash
A DIY Stenciled Kitchen Backsplash Using The Herringbone Brick Stencil
Good morning, my
Cutting Edge Stencils friends! Adding a little personality to your kitchen doesn't have to break the bank.
Stencils are the perfect way to give your kitchen the little pick-me-up it needs to go from drab to fab. A small stencil enhancement, like a stenciled backsplash, can go a long way in terms of decor. Today we're going to inspire you with a gorgeous kitchen makeover featuring a stenciled backsplash. Come take a look...
We'd like to welcome back Sallie Kjos, the interior designer behind
GreyHunt Interiors. Sallie is known for designing spaces that incorporate patterns and interesting color combinations. Do you remember when we shined our
stencil spotlight on her? Well this clever gal has been up to it again. This time she is dazzling us with a kitchen makeover. This is what the kitchen looked like before:
This kitchen belonged to Sallie and after putting so much time and effort into her Clients' homes, it was time she updated her own. She put together a makeover plan which included new countertops, new lighting, and sink. While a tiled backsplash would have been an amazing addition, it just wasn't in the budget. Sallie chose the next best thing, stencils! She browsed our website and selected the
Herringbone Brick Allover Stencil. The geometric pattern is perfect for recreating the look of a fancy kitchen backsplash.
With her new stencil in hand, Sallie was ready to start stenciling! She hired Lynn from Plasters of Tuscany to paint the backsplash. Lynn used blue painter's tape to hold the stencil in place and she painted the pattern in gray and white. After each section was complete, she would untape the stencil and reposition to finish the pattern on the wall. Ready to see how her kitchen makeover turned out? Here is her newly stenciled kitchen.
Sallie had this to say about her makeover, "Finally completed my own kitchen. So fun finally getting to be my own designer. Sadly these photos don't do it justice."
We love the charm that the
Herringbone Brick Allover Stencil adds to this kitchen.
