Stencils Add Interest To A Casual Farmhouse
Use A Stencil Design To Enhance Your Decorating Style
Good morning, my
Cutting Edge Stencils friends! Whether you define your home decorating style as casual farmhouse or global glam, we have a
stencil pattern that is sure to enhance your decor plan.
Our large selection of stencil patterns take any space from blah to ooh la la. Let's take a look at how one DIY blogger used a stencil to enhance her home.
We'd like to introduce Gina, a creative DIYer and the blogger behind
Lovely, Messy, House. Gina describes her decor style as casual farmhouse. She says, " A casual farmhouse is my laid-back spin on the popular farmhouse style. It consists of cozy furniture and eclectic decor with wood and metal accents." We love the sound of that!
Gina had been living in her home for three years and has slowly been updating it with one DIY project at a time. On that list of projects to complete, was the kitchen/eat in dining space. The first thing she did was paint over the lambskin colored wall. Gina chose Sherwin Williams Serene Green for the main color of the walls. While she considered wallpaper, it was too expensive and too difficult to install. After browsing Pinterest for wall pattern ideas, she landed on
stenciling. She checked out our large collection of stencil patterns before selecting the
Cascade Allover Stencil. This
geometric wall pattern can be fun and groovy or elegant and classy depending on the color scheme. Gina opted for casual elegance and painted the pattern in Sherwin Williams Grassland.
When Gina was completing her stencil project, she used blue painter's tape to hold the
Cascade Stencil in place. She poured her soft gray-green
paint into a foam tray and then painted the pattern using a dense foam roller. We always recommend using the
clip on stencil level for accent wall projects because it can be such a handy stenciling tool.
Gina commented, " The stencil was purchased from
Cutting Edge Stencils. They have some seriously cute designs! The stencil I chose was super simple to use and I completed the entire wall in one day. "
Please note: If you are recreating this project at home, be sure to roll off any excess paint to eliminate bleed. After each section of the stencil is complete, simply untape it and reposition to finish the pattern on the wall. It can be helpful to clean the stencil in between uses. stencil tutorials.
Gina didn't rest her stenciling skills after completing her gorgeous kitchen! She also added some patterned interest to her son's bedroom. She used the
Cars Allover Stencil in bright primary hues.
