Stencils Enhance a Small Space

Stenciling An Accent Wall In A Small Room Using the Zamira Pattern

Good morning, my stenciling friends! Arranging and decorating a small room can be a challenge. Just because you're short on space doesn't mean you have to skimp on style. If you're feeling overwhelmed with your decorating challenge then Cutting Edge Stencils is here to help. We have a tiny yet beautiful stenciled space to help inspire. Let’s take a look... Vanessa and her husband were living in sunny Santa Monica, California in a tiny two bedroom home. The spare room in the home was a combined office/guest bedroom. Vanessa worked from home a good portion of the time. She really wanted to a separate space she could call her office but the couple also needed a space for their out of town guests. The room was small and had to work twice as hard to accommodate two needs. Rather than just toss a bunch of furniture into the room and call it a day, Vanessa put her creative thinking cap on. With the assistance of her handy husband and father-in-law, the dynamic trio built a Murphy daybed/desk. A bold pattern can do a lot for a small space. Vanessa chose to paint an accent wall using our Zamira Allover stencil, in a cool gray hue. She used blue painters tape to hold the stencil in place and a dense foam roller to paint the intricate Moroccan pattern. When it was complete, she added pops of yellow and Indigo blue. And then the couple found out that they were expecting a little bundle of joy. So this stylish space needed to take on another function, a nursery. The couple landed on a construction theme for the nursery. Vanessa pulled in some simple construction elements like a craftsmen inspired dresser, a backhoe stitched pillow, and primary accent colors. She kept her gorgeous Zamira stenciled accent wall but added a blue frame to tie the space together. Here is her beautiful nursery.
