Stencils Can Easily Create DIY Fall Decor
Welcome back, my Cutting Edge Stencils crafters! Fall is finally upon us and there's nothing more fun than decorating for this color-saturated season. Mums, pumpkins, piles of haystacks, and a DIY stenciled sign are simple ways to craft the perfect Fall-inspired porch. Today we're going to show you how to easily craft a DIY Fall-inspired sign using our stencils!
Amy signed up for a local workshop and counted down the days with excitement. When she showed up it was clear that the workshop was not what she envisioned. She was handed a list of materials and given limited instructions. Her heart sank. It's a good thing Amy is crafty, clever, and has a positive attitude because she turned this situation into an awesome opportunity. She picked up some materials and decided to make a wooden sign to celebrate the season.
Amy explains exactly how she built her sign on her blog.
Once it was built, she painted it white using a chalky paint. Then she chose to stencil her sign using the Pumpkin Craft Stencil. She measured the placement of the stencil to ensure the pattern was centered. Then she secured the stencil in place using painter's tape and painted the pretty pumpkin using orange and brown craft paint.
** Please note that too much paint will cause the design to bleed and smudge.
After the pumpkin was stenciled, Amy added the words Give Thanks and applied a coat of wax to seal it.
Amy added the Fall-inspired sign to her porch decoration when it was dry. Now let's feast your eyes on this beautiful piece of art!
