DIY Stenciled Halloween Banner
We'd like to welcome back Tricia, the absolutely amazing DIYer behind the blog
Suburban Bitches! Tricia admits that she's a bit of a minimalist when it comes to decorating for Halloween. She tends to decorate with something simple yet stylish. So using our new Halloween stencils to craft a pretty banner was a no brainer! She took a look at the collection and chose the
Crow Craft Stencil. Tricia had a piece of burlap from a previous project. She laid it out on a flat surface. Then held the stencil in place while she painted the pattern using a dense foam roller. A piece of painter's tape might help hold the stencil in place. Tricia painted about 10 crows spaced out but you could paint as many or as few as you'd like to create your banner. Tricia explains how to cut-out the banner and string it together on her
blog. We love how she plays up the banner with some cute little crows from the dollar store! She said, "This little banner got me more into the Halloween spirit and I ended up decorating the whole front entry way. "
DIY Stenciled Halloween Mantel Art
Next we'd like to welcome back Colleen, the crafting queen behind
58 Water Street. We call her a crafting queen because we just shared her
Crow stenciled accent pillow the other day and she's already crafting again using the same stencil. Colleen is participating a in a fun blogger project called Swap It Like It's Hot. Bloggers sign up and get assigned one person to send $10-$15 worth of materials found at a local thrift store. The receiving blogger turns the thrift store treasures into decor gems. Well Colleen received a very interesting package this month and you can see what she did with her items in her recent
blog post. One of the items was a bed spring which she chose to use as mantel decor. While she was decorating her mantel for Halloween, she also decided to add some stenciled art. Colleen already had a small canvas that would be perfect for the space. She placed her
Crow Stencil on the canvas and held it in place using painter's tape. Then she painted the pattern in black craft paint using a dense foam roller. Doesn't this look awesome? We think so!
Here is a close-up of her stenciled crow.
