Cutting Edge Stencils Suggests Using Stencils to Create Designer Looking Home Decor!
Happy Friday, my DIY pattern spotters! We love playing our patterned version of iSpy because we love spotting all multiple patterns in one space. "Can I mix patterns?", is an age-old designing question and the answer, in most cases, is YES! Combining patterns brings excitement to a room. Are you curious as to how you can make it work in your space? Here are some simple rules to keep in mind:
1. Vary the scale, from small to large, of the patterns.
2. Try to include one big solid (wall or floor) in the space.
3. Three is the minimum number of patterns you should use.
Today we have three awesome examples that mix and match patterns. Cutting Edge Stencils is going to point out these patterns and then we're going to tell you which stencils to use to recreate the look. So lets start spotting some patterns!

If vibrant hues and eclectic decor is how you roll, then you're gonna love this Gracious Living space! Choose colors that are complements, like purple and green, and patterns that vary in size. See how pretty they look together? Can you spy the patterns in this living room?
We knew you'd find all four! Now let's talk about which stencils to use to recreate these looks. That pretty flower pattern on the wall will be super easy to paint if you use our Peony Allover Stencil in Benjamin Moore's apple lime cocktail 420. Next you'll need to find a bordeaux colored rug without a print. Stencil our Brocade No.1 pattern in Benjamin Moore's simply white OC-117 to steal this look. Then craft your own throw pillows using our Zamira pattern in a revere pewter HC-172 and our Alexa Allover pattern in cherry wine 2080-30. WAHLA, there you have it!

Accent walls add interest and depth to a space. Engage the eye with a bold design like the Moroc-N-Roll in high contrast colors like Benjamin Moore's westcott navy 1624 and whirlpool 1436. Then bring in a grounding color, like the yellow found in this stunning rug. There's no need to cringe when your tween or teen tells you that they love bright colors and bold patterns. Home Goods made it work in this trendy bedroom and you can too! Just spot those patterns and we'll show you which stencils to use!
First, create a focal point in the room by crafting a patterned headboard like the one shown above. Use our Trellis Allover Stencil in a chocolate brown and white. Then stencil a set of pillows using a flower stencil, like our Zinnia Grande in the same colors as the head board. Complete this recreation by making your own wall art using our Daisy Crazy stencil in playful colors, like Benjamin Moore's orange 2011-10 and yellow 2022-10. There you have it!
