Stenciling Photo Frames with Cutting Edge Stencils
How-to Project: Create Photo Frames with Stencils
Cutting Edge Stencils' stencil patterns can be used to design totally chic
picture frames that can add a little charm to your
home decor!
Katie's Nesting Spot
Katie, from the blog
Katie's Nesting Spot, made this beautiful, large frame out of layered canvas! The supplies she used to create this
stenciled decorating idea were: 12x12 blank
wrapped canvas, acrylic paint,
stencil brush, and
Cutting Edge Stencils' Small Nagoya Allover Stencil!
After the base coat of
green acrylic paint dried, Katie used
adhesive spray to stick the stencil to the canvas. She used her
stencil brush and the
stippling technique to paint the
Nagoya Allover Stencil with
blue acrylic paint. Once the stenciling was finished and dry, Katie attached a
mounted photo of her child that she made at a photo lab! The results of this
stencil project are so sweet!
Shanty 2 Chic
Ashley, from the blog
Shanty 2 Chic, also
stenciled these
darling frames for her
house and home! What she used: plywood boards, spray and acrylic paint, stencil brush, cheap 5x7 frames, and
Cutting Edge Stencils' Turkish Tulip Stencil!
Ashley used
Rust-Oleum Heirloom White spray paint for the base coat of the plywood, and stenciled the
Turkish Tulip stencil pattern with the
dry-brush method using
Slate Grey by Americana acrylic paint. Ashley then ripped off the stands of the frames and made holes in their cardboard backings. She put a nail in the center of each plywood and hung the frames on the nails. This way the photos are interchangeable! Brilliant!
