Style Your Dining Room With A Stencil
A Stenciled Dining Room Makeover Using the Sophia Trellis Stencil
Welcome back, my Cutting Edge Stencils friends. Are you looking to breathe new life into your dining room? Then you have come to the right place! Our wall stencils can help freshen a dull dining room. It's as simple as choosing a coordinating room color along with your favorite wall pattern. Today we are sharing a pretty dining room makeover using our Sophia Trellis Allover Stencil. We'd like to introduce Rachel, the creative DIYer behind the blog Craving Some Creativity. Rachel bought a foreclosure home and called it her diamond in the rough. It needed a lot of TLC and she has been completing one DIY project after another to transform her house into a home. On that DIY list was the dining room. Here is what it looked like before. The beat up walls lacked pattern and personality. Rachel debated adding wallpaper or using a wall stencil. Wallpaper can be quite costly and a hassle to put up so they landed on a wall stencil. A painted wall pattern is a great alternative to wallpaper and it can be customized based on color preferences. Rachel browsed our large collection of wall stencils online and fell in love with our Sophia Trellis Allover Stencil. It's a modern and trendy Moroccan wall pattern.
The first thing she did was choose a color scheme for the dining room. She said, " I chose a monochromatic color scheme by choosing two shades on the same paint card. I wanted a cut-out look so I chose a semi-gloss background with a flat top color. This gives it some texture when viewed at an angle and gives the wall movement as light bounces off of it." With her stencil in hand, Rachel was ready to start stenciling! She used blue painters tape to adhere the stencil to the wall and a dense foam roller to paint the pattern.
After each section was painted, she would un-tape the Sophia Trellis Allover Stencil and reposition so she could stencil the entire wall.
