Stencil A Duvet Cover With The Myriad Allover Pattern

Good morning, my stencil lovin' friends. Today, Cutting Edge Stencils has a super sweet story about a loving Mom making her daughter's bedroom dreams come true and an awesome DIY project using our Myriad Allover Stencil. Come take a look! We'd like to introduce you to Leslie, the loving mama and amazing DIYer behind the blog Paper Daisy Design. Leslie has been helping her teenage daughter make over her bedroom with one DIY project at a time. Together they have collaborated on the design and color palette for the space. One of the items her daughter requested for her bedroom was a white and gold polka-dot duvet to coordinate with her vintage brass bed. This sassy styled teen didn't want just any old polka dot duvet, she wanted her mother to custom make it. It's a good thing that Leslie is such an awesome DIYer. Leslie comments, "Enter this little customizable lifesaver from Cutting Edge Stencils, the Myriad Allover Stencil." Do you see that pretty gold polka dot bedding? Yup, Leslie created it! We think this is one of the most creative DIY items we have ever seen. So after you finish reading about how you can recreate it, make sure you hop on over to Leslie's blog and enter her stencil giveaway. Leslie found a flat surface, the floor, to stencil the white cotton duvet cover. Be sure to put something like a plastic tablecloth under the fabric to protect the floor. Then she positioned the stencil design on the sheet and used spray adhesive to hold it in place. ** Please note we do not typically suggest using spray adhesive however Leslie found it helpful with this particular project. If you're recreating this project, you'll need to dip your dense foam roller into the paint and roll off the excess paint onto your folded paper towel until the roller looks almost dry. The key to stenciling is to use as little paint as possible. Too much paint will cause the design to bleed and smudge. Next you will paint the design onto the fabric with the roller. For this project, Leslie used Jacquard Lumiere Metallic Acrylic Paint in Metallic Gold. Then she allowed the paint to dry a little and repositioned the stencil to continue the pattern. Once the entire duvet was stenciled, she was ready to make the bed!
