Stencils Add A Romantic Twist To A Bedroom
Stencil Patterns Add Texture To An Ombre Painted Accent Wall
Good morning, my
Cutting Edge Stencils friends! It's time to make that slumber zone dreamy using a
wall stencil. Kiss your boring bedroom goodbye and say hello to your stylishly stenciled boudoir! Our stencil designs are an easy and inexpensive way to personalize your space. Today we are sharing a stenciled master bedroom makeover that puts a modern spin on a classic look.
We'd like to introduce Jessica, the DIY decorating enthusiast behind the blog
Designer Sweet Spot. Jessica's master bedroom is very plain and small. She has larger plans for this space in the future but for now she wanted to give it a stylish update. The bedroom was painted in a creamy shade of white. While neutrals are super popular, Jessica just isn't a neutral sort of girl. Here is the room she started with...
Simple and plain, we can see why Jessica would want to inject it with her personality. On her blog, Jessica admits that she's been dreaming of giving their bedroom a makeover. She says, " I have always wanted a sultry, dark master bedroom. I am not sure what it is, but master bedrooms with stunning dark walls and contrasting trim are just my style." Jessica took the plunge and painted her walls using an ombre effect. You can read her
ombre paint tutorial here because we're going to skip to the fun part,
stenciling!
Jessica planned to add a
wall pattern to personalize her bedroom. Stenciling a wall design allows you to achieve a wallpaper like look for a fraction of the cost. She browsed our large collection of
damask stencils and fell in love with the
Anna Damask Stencil, a pattern inspired by classic damask wallpaper. She said, "I was thrilled to find this beautiful Damask stencil and jumped at the opportunity to create a modern ombre wall with a vintage look."
Jessica placed her Anna Damask Stencil on her bedroom accent wall. She used blue painters tape to hold the stencil in place on the wall. Then she poured her paint into a small tray and painted with a dense foam roller. Jessica painted the
damask stencil pattern in a navy blue. Once the blue was dry, she added some copper highlights.
Once the stencil was complete, Jessica stepped back to admire her beautiful work. She's going to continue to update the decor for this room but for now the space more accurately reflects her decor style. Are you ready to see how her stenciled bedroom turned out?
Now THAT is a dreamy bedroom! Here is a close-up of the pretty
wall stencil pattern. Jessica had this to say about her stencil project, " The wall turned out great. It is everything I had hoped for and more. I love the subtle pattern and variation in color. "
