Stencil Christmas Tree Light Up Artwork

Use Christmas Stencils To Make Festive Holiday Artwork

Welcome back, my Cutting Edge Stencils friends. Create a holiday haven that will sparkle all the way through the month of December! Twinkling lights surely means that Christmas is near and what better way to show off your holiday spirit than by crafting artwork using our stencil designs. Today we're sharing a festive project using a canvas and our Christmas Tree Stencil. Cutting Edge Stencils shares how to make DIY light up Christmas Tree artwork using paint and stencils. http://www.cuttingedgestencils.com/products/christmas-tree-stencil Erika, our in-house craft guru, was inspired by the light up Christmas artwork she had spotted on Pinterest. She scooped up a plain canvas and decided to use it to craft her festive Christmas decor. Watch this quick video tutorial about this creative project. Erika used a standard 8" by 12" pre-primed canvas that she had purchased her local craft store. She decided to use our medium Christmas Tree Stencil for this decorating project. This design comes in two parts. The first stencil is the tree and the second stencil is Christmas balls and star. The tree gets painted first and once it is dry, the second stencil gets placed over it. Repositionable spray adhesive can help hold the stencil in place and reduce bleed. She placed the stencil on top of the canvas and chose to paint the pattern in green acrylic craft paint using a 4" dense foam roller. Too much paint will cause the design to bleed. Then she painted the trunk in brown acrylic craft paint. She used a wooden skewer to poke the holes. Then she popped a small tree light through the hole. She used duck tape to secure the light wires on the back of the canvas and placed the painted artwork in a gold painted frame. Are you ready to see how this project turned out?
