A Stenciled Side Table Featured On CityLine
Cutting Edge Stencils Spotted on CityTV's CityLine With Colin & Justin
Good morning, my DIY savvy friends! So how many of our stencil fans also tune into Cityline TV? Well if you happen to be watching on August 18th, then we're sure you spotted
Cutting Edge Stencils prettying up a side table in their Hotel Hell to Heavenly segment. But just in case you happen to miss it, let's rehash the juicy deets of our fab stencil spotting on
CityLine!
What is CityLine?
For all of our non-Canadian residents,
CityLine is an uber popular morning TV program in Canada.
Colin and Justin are interior designers and style commentators who appear on the well known show. In this specific segment, Colin and Justin managed to transform a space for only $600. Sounds too good to be true, right? Wrong. They spill the beans that purchasing used furniture from a hotel liquidator is all the rage. Then they share how easy it is to transform rough-around-the-edges hotel pieces into a fresh office space using a little paint, modern detailing, and a whole lot of creativity.
The Inside Stenciled Scoop: From Hotel Hell to Heavenly
Awhile back, Kate a CityLine producer, contacted us about a makeover project that Colin and Justin were working on for a special segment. They had purchased furniture from a hotel liquidator. While the furniture was solid and sturdy, it needed a little elbow grease, paint, and a stencil to help liven it back up. Here is the before...
The Mahogany end tables were dull but they had great potential.
The first thing the fab duo did was sand the table down and then paint it using Benjamin Moore's
labrador blue 1670. Once it was painted they wrapped white washing-line cord around the base of the table and used a glue gun to hold it in place.
To complete the look of this nautical inspired side table, they painted our
Anchor Stencil (size medium) on the top using Benjamin Moore's
seashell OC-120.
Here is a close-up of the Anchor stencil...
And here is what all of the furniture looks like after the transformation. Gorgeous, right? Hmmm, that wall pattern looks just like our
Zamira Stencil. If you're interested in watching the whole episode, you can catch it
here.
