Cutting Edge Stencils friends! So how many of our stencil fans also tune into Cityline TV? Well if you happened to be watching on December 3rd, then we're sure you spotted our
wall stencils prettying up an accent wall in their Home Trends segment where Benjamin Moore debuted their 2016 Color of the Year. But just in case you missed it, let's rehash the juicy details of our stencil spotting on CityLine!
What is CityLine?
For all of our non-Canadian residents, CityLine is an super popular morning TV program in Canada. Sharon Grech is a DIY expert who appears on the well known show. In this specific segment, Sharon shows fans how she created a beautifully painted accent wall using the
Shapes Allover Stencil and Benjamin Moore's 2016 Colour of the Year, Simply White. She also provides tips and tricks for painting a wall stencil.
The Inside Stenciled Scoop: DIY Stencil Wall Pattern
Sharon Grech was excited to share Benjamin Moore's Trend Report for 2016. The Color of the Year, Simply White, has been a controversial yet amazing announcement. Designers are often asked for their favorite whites so this color news is exciting for them. Sharon says white is a color that needs a little help so she shows fans how they can add pattern and personality to a white room. Sharon started with a fun geometric wall pattern, the
Shapes Allover Stencil.
Sharon loves the idea of using a wall stencil to add a little pattern instead of using wallpaper. She painted the wall in Benjamin Moore's 2016 Color of the Year,
Simple White. Sharon used a removable spray adhesive to help hold her stencil in place on the wall. Then she used the
clip on stencil level to ensure the pattern was straight. Sharon loaded up her dense foam roller with paint and began painting the geometric pattern in Benjamin Moore's
Gray Owl.
For a splash of color, she painted the sporadic pieces of the eye-catching pattern in Benjamin Moore's
Patriot Blue.
After the stencil was painted, she peeled the stencil away revealing the pretty pattern. Sharon then lined up the stencil pattern to complete the section of her accent wall.
