Outdoors IN The title of this article is Outdoors In, and we can only presume that Do It Yourself Magazine thinks that stenciling is totally in! In this creative article, the publication has created a multilevel dream deck that blens interior and exterior spaces. The result is a prime place to lounge, dine, and entertain alfresco. On page 53, the clever publication suggests that readers consider stenciling outdoor accent pillows and a table using the Allium Grande Flower Stencil. The first project is a stenciled outdoor accent pillow using a special fabric from BluePrints On Fabric. It says, " Spray a stencil with dark paint to make it opaque then use it to mask a pillow cover made of white cyanotype fabric. Leave the pillow in the sun until the exposed areas turn blue." Also featured in this dreamy covered deck, is a stenciled accent table. For the table project, the publication used a piece of maple plywood as a top for an obscure metal base. The plywood was cut, stained, and then stenciled with three large Allium Grande Flowers. then several coats of spar varnish were applied to protect the flower stencil. The base of the table was painted in Benjamin Moore's utah sky to complete the project.
