DIY Magazine Paints the Town With Stencils!

Cutting Edge Stencils is featured in Do It Yourself Magazine!

Happy Hump Day, my DIY friends! Well this week is certainly on the up for us here at Cutting Edge Stencils. We just happened to be flipping through one of our favorite publications, DIY Magazine when we spotted our fabulous stencil patterns incorporated into their projects. The How to Paint Anything 2014 issue features not one, not two, but FIVE very versatile stencils! We are super excited about our stenciled attention. We've had a chance to check out the latest issue of DIY Magazine and we can't wait to tell you the 411 on what they've said about us this time! Cutting Edge Stencils was featured in DIY Magazine with stenciled home decor projects. http://www.cuttingedgestencils.com/collections/wall-stencils-stencil-designs Zagora Craft Stenciled Table Does your living room have you feeling blue these days? Then DIY Magazine has an idea for you! Take that sad looking wooden table to a whole new level with a stencil. Mimic a chic table runner just by stenciling a patterned stripe on the coffee table top. For this look, they used our popular Zagora Craft Stencil and white craft paint. They watered down the craft paint to allow some wood grain and texture to show. Then the table was sanded and when it was dry, a clear sealant was applied. This awesome idea was not only spotted on page 46 but also on the cover! We love this idea, how about you? Strokes of Happiness, on page 24, is filled to the brim with happy stenciling ideas for a bedroom. Sporting springtime hues, this once-blah bedroom is singing a fresh new tune with playful painted projects on nearly every surface. Just like that Zinnia Grande stenciled floorcloth project. To recreate it, use an inexpensive linoleum remnant and paint it in your favorite springtime hue, like Benjamin Moore's golden orchards 329. Once the base coat is dry, you can paint the Zinnia Grande stencil, a fun flower pattern, in Benjamin Moore's simply white OC-117 and little dipper 324. The awesome thing about our stencils is that they are reusable so after you finish one project, you can start another! See that pretty pink pillow on that chair? Yup you can create it using the same stencil. They used our Ikat Samarkand Stencil in a deep blue , Sherwin William's Nautilus, on a dining room accent wall. The publication notes, "Love the look of sumptuous, hand-blocked wallpaper but not its commitment? Stencil a design instead." We can't disagree with that! We also love the idea of adding a little sparkle to the pretty pattern using gold craft paint. This DIYer bought a vintage drum off eBay and then removed the metal tension rods. She masked the stained rims, painted the sides spa blue and stenciled our Allium Grande Flower Stencil. It makes the perfect pendant light!
