HGTV Magazine, and spot our gorgeous
Nagoya Stencil pattern. Their June issue is just packed to the brim with awesome DIY projects that are easy and affordable. Now we've managed to put this issue down just long enough to come give you the 411 on what they've said about us this time!
Nagoya Stenciled Bone Inlay Inspired Dresser by Centsational Girl's Kate
We'd like to welcome back Kate, the design lover and incurable DIYer from
Centsational Girl. Kate made a list of projects that she wanted to try on her blog and recreating a bone inlay dresser was one of them. Since that gorgeous inlay pattern can cost a small fortune, Kate had some tricks up her sleeve. She says, "Mimic the pricey look of bone-inlay for less with a geometric stencil and paint." When she was asked by the Glidden paint team to come up with something creative for their Power of Paint advertising promotion, the bone inlay inspired dresser came to mind. Here she is featured in the Power of Paint campaign which was placed on the inside back cover of
HGTV Magazine.
Kate says the process was super simple. She followed the same stenciling steps as she did when she created a bone inlay inspired wooden tray in this
post. Here you can see her painting the
Nagoya Craft pattern using a dense foam roller.
Kate says her project was relatively simple. She started with a plain white IKEA
Koppang chest which she purchased for $99. She primed the dresser using Glidden’s Gripper formula and then painted it white. Once it was dry, she painted our
Nagoya Craft stencil, a gorgeous geometric design, in Glidden’s Rich Navy. To complete its designer look, she added hand carved knobs from Anthropologie. Here is the dresser before and after its stenciled makeover.
After some fun styling and prop hunting through her house, Kate was able to pull together this look for the magazine.
So, go pick up the June 2014 issue of
HGTV Magazine, now! Our crush-worthy designs and their awe-inspiring projects are sure to get your decorating juices flowing!
