An Inspiring Outdoor Fire Pit Using Stencils
Wall Stencils Can Transform An Old Fire Pit
Good morning, my
Cutting Edge Stencils friends! We love the idea of turning an unwanted item into a gorgeous DIY project. It's amazing how a pretty
stencil pattern can help transform any old item. Today we’re going to share an old outdoor fire pit makeover that was enhanced with our
Augusta Tile Stencil. Come take a look...
We'd like to introduce
Pamela, an Interior Design Consultant and creative obsessed DIYer behind
PTB Design Co. Pamela had an old fire pit that needed an inexpensive makeover. Here is what it looked like before.
The tiles around the fire pit were worn and dull looking. Rather than toss this old outdoor item to the curb, Pamela decided to give it a little stenciled pick-me-up. She decided to stencil the old tiles using one our
tile stencils. She browsed our large collection of
tile patterns and selected our
Augusta Tile Pattern. This beautiful pattern is based on traditional Portuguese Azulejos tile designs and has become very popular.
The first thing Pamela did was clean off the tiles to ensure there was no dirt or debris. Then she coated in them in black spray paint.
After the black painted tiles were dry, she was ready to start
stenciling! Pamela used blue painters tape to hold the stencil in place and a dense foam roller to paint the pattern in white. Pamela used Resilience, an exterior acrylic latex paint, so that her fire pit would hold up to the outdoor elements.
After each tile was complete, Pamela would un-tape the stencil and reposition it onto the next one so she could complete her project.
Pamela placed the painted tiles back into the fire pit. Then she added so some cedar planks so that her fire pit doubled as an umbrella holder/outdoor table. We just love her creativity!
Pamela posted this about her project, "Before-so sad. Old fire pit table with blah tiles all faded. After-black spray paint, white chalk paint, stencil from Cutting Edge Stencils, and some leftover cedar in the garage. Who's got their fancy pants on now?"
We think she did an amazing job transforming this old fire pit using a stencil and paint. Don't you agree?
