Create A Faux Wooden Wall Clock Using Mandala Stencils
Mandala Stencils Add Character To An Oversized Wall Clock
Good morning, my
Cutting Edge Stencils friends!
So you have a blank wall in your home and you're thinking of decorating it with a giant wall clock. Your search for a great DIY idea ends here! This decorative, static clock features a beautiful
stencil pattern and will fill a large block of wall space with rustic sophistication. Here is how one crafty blogger used the
Prosperity Mandala Pattern to add rustic style to a decorative wooden wall clock. Come be inspired...
We'd like to welcome back Kammy, the creative blogger and furniture makeover queen behind the blog
Kammy's Korner. She had spotted this wooden table at a garage sale in her hometown. Here is what the table looked like:
It was beat up but had a ton of potential! But this garage sale cutie was about to become a trash to treasure story. The first thing she did was lightly sand the table and give it a fresh coat of white paint. Kammy didn't stop with a simple coat of fresh paint. She dismantled the top from the base and decided to transform it into a giant faux wall clock. She painted roman numeral in black along the outer edges of the table. For step by step instructions, please visit her blog
Kammy's Korner. We're going to talk about the fun part,
stenciling!
Kammy had used
Prosperity Mandala Stencil to add pattern to an old chair. You can read about the
wooden chair makeover on our blog. After she completed the last project, she rinsed off her reusable stencil and put it aside for the next project. This 24 inch mandala pattern represents Opulence, Luxury and the Good Life and is perfect for so many DIY projects.
With her
Mandala pattern in hand, Kammy thought it would be beautiful stenciled on her oversized faux wall clock! She used blue painter's tape to adhere the stencil to the wood. Then she painted the
stencil design in dark gray using a dense foam roller. If you are recreating this project at home, be sure to roll off extra paint so it doesn't bleed under the stencil. The key to stenciling is using very little paint.
Once the mandala stencil was dry, Kammy hung her faux wall clock in her living room. Are you ready to see how her creative project turned out? Here is her stenciled oversized wall clock.
Kammy had this to say about her stencil project, "Doesn't it look a billion times more fabulous? " We totally think so! We love how she was able to transform a garage sale table into a custom piece of wall art.
