Paisley Stenciled Table Makeovers

Stencils Can Give Old Tables A New Stylish Look!

Good morning, my DIY friends. One of the most popular furniture makeover projects featuring Cutting Edge Stencils was painted by Ashley from Domestic Imperfection. That Paisley stenciled table has been pinned, shared, and inspired many furniture projects. Today we're going to share two table makeover projects that put a new twist on the popular project. Cutting Edge Stencils shares DIY stenciled table ideas using the Paisley Allover stencil. http://www.cuttingedgestencils.com/products/paisley-stencil-reusable-stencils-pattern-for-wall-painting We'd like to introduce you to Lauren, the creative DIYer behind the blog The Yellow Fern. Lauren wanted a table for her screened porch so that her family could eat out there and play games. While searching for ideas, she fell in love with the infamous Paisley stenciled table. Then she stumbled upon a solid oak table on Craigslist. Jackpot! It was beat up with gauges and marker all over it but it had a ton of potential. The first thing she did was sand off the old gloss finish. Lauren painted our Paisley Allover pattern in white. Once the painted stencil design was dry, she gave the whole table a coat of stain using Minwax-All American. After the tabletop was stenciled, she applied semi-gloss poly-urethane and painted the legs an eye-catching shade of teal. Lauren had this to say about her project, "It’s probably been the easiest project I have done so far and I’m SO happy with how it turned out!" Meet Megan, the furniture makeover maven behind the blog The Pretty Pickle. Megan's sister needed a new kitchen table. Since Megan is super creative when it comes to giving old furniture a second chance, she decided to help her sister out. She found this table that was scratched up and worn but had a great set of bones. The first thing she did was sand it down. Then she flipped it over and painted the legs white with metallic gold tips. Ooh laa laa! Now she was ready to paint a pretty paisley pattern on the top using our Paisley Allover pattern. Once the tabletop was stenciled, she applied a polyurethane gloss to seal it and hopefully make it durable enough for the family meals. Megan commented "I’m so in love with this table! Good thing it is going to my sister’s house and I can visit it at any time!"
