Stencil A Gold Lace Pattern On A Tabletop
Good morning, my
Cutting Edge Stencils friends. It’s difficult, if not impossible for most of us to purchase a new dining set whenever we want a decorating update. But for just a few dollars, you can update your dining table with paint and a
stencil pattern in just a weekend for a whole new decorating look! When you combine our
furniture stencils and a dash of creativity you can easily give an old table a fresh new look. Today we're going to share a dining table makeover using a beautiful
Lace Stencil Pattern that is sure to inspire.
We'd like to welcome back Ashley, the creative DIYer and furniture makeover queen behind the blog Domestic Imperfection. Ashley is sharing an awesome stenciled table tutorial and a
stencil design giveaway on her blog. Make sure you visit

It was beat-up and drab but it had potential so Ashley decided to give it a facelift. The first thing she did was sand, prime, and paint the table white. After the fresh coat of paint was dry she was ready for the fun part,
stenciling! Ashley browsed our
stencil collection and fell in love with the
Stephanie's Lace Allover Stencil. This gorgeous
lace pattern is very intricate, yet is very sturdy, easy to use and quite forgiving.
She positioned the lace
stencil pattern on the top of the table and used painter's tape to hold it into place. Then she painted the pattern using Precious Metals Premium Leafing Finish with a stencil brush.
If you're trying to recreate this, pour your paint onto a plate or paint tray. Dip your stencil brush into the paint. Brush off the excess paint onto your folded paper towel until the brush looks almost dry. The key to stenciling is using as little paint as possible. Too much paint will cause the design to bleed and smudge. Painter's tape can help hold the stencil in place. Next you will paint the design onto the table with the stencil brush. Once the pattern is complete, you'll need to reposition the stencil to complete the design. Simply pick up the stencil, align it, and continue painting the pattern.
Once the painted stencil was dry, Ashley coated the tabletop with
Rust-Oleum Varathane Interior Crystal Clear Water-Based Poleurethane. Are you ready to see how fab her once drab looking dining table looks now? Here it is!
We absolutely love how Ashley's dining table makeover turned out!
