Stenciled Guest Bedroom Ideas to Make Your Holiday Guest Feel More Welcomed
Good morning, my happy holiday hosts. We bet you've been busy bees stenciling all those DIY gifts that we've been sharing this week. Well Cutting Edge Stencils doesn't want to place any additional stress on you but by any chance do you have guests coming to stay with you during the holidays? If that answer is yes, then you need to take a good look at your guest bedroom. Is it cluttered, cramped and completely lacking any sense of decor? You would hardly want your guests staying in a room in your home that's slightly better than the local dive motel, would you? Of course, not! Since there's no time (and no budget) for major renovations, we've got the project for you!
Today's project of the day is Stenciled Guest Bedrooms.
Meet Nina, the DIY decorating enthusiast behind the blog Swanky Swell. Nina had been eying our Birch Forest Stencil because it reminded her of her favorite nature inspired wallpaper. She had decided to make over her guest bedroom and while she loved the look of wallpaper, the price was way outside her decorating budget. Our Birch Forest Stencil was the perfect solution. She painted the forest pattern on an accent wall behind the bed in Martha Stewart's Tiger Eye. To complete the look of the room, she purchased a headboard from Target and scored a vintage end table on Craigslist that she painted Kelly Green. It's the perfect swanky guest bedroom. Somehow we doubt her guests will want to leave!
Next we'd like you to meet Rita, the creative DIYer behind the blog Suburbs Mama. Rita had a craft room. Notice the key word in that sentence is had! See Rita's family lives in a different state and they like to visit during the holidays. Sound familiar? So she decided to transform her craft room into a cozy guest bedroom. Rita had to work with a lot of her existing furniture pieces and decor accessories. To add some WOW factor to the room, she stenciled two walls using Moroccan Dream stencil. She selected a fresh and inviting shade of green, like Benjamin Moore's seedling AF-450.Then she accented the space with coral pillows that she crafted herself and a soft green throw. We think Rita did a great job putting together this guest bedroom! And we can't forget Roeshel, the ubber creative DIYer from The DIY Showoff. She had out of town guests coming to visit. There was a beautiful guest bathroom waiting their arrival but the guest bedroom had become a craft room. Roeshel quickly moved all of her craft items out of the room and was left with a empty room with old carpeting. With less than a month to spare, new flooring was not in her budget. Roeshel put her creative thinking cap on and decided to paint the floor and stencil an area rug using our Ikat Samarkand stencil. We think she made the right move because isn't this guest room gorgeous? We think her guests tootsies must thank her each time they get to walk on something so lovely! PS. If you want to recreate this look, check out her step-by-step tutorial on her blog.Would you stencil your guest bedroom and if so which stencil would you choose?
