Stencils Create A Luxurious Accent Wall In Metallic Gold

Good morning, my Cutting Edge Stencils fans! Gold is making a comeback in home decor and we are in love! It's a rich colored hue that carries a certain elegance. Since gold has impact on a room, you can really create a wow moment with very little effort. Wall stencils are the perfect way to add a splash of glam to your decor. Today we're excited to share a stenciled gold nursery that is equally luxurious as it is stylish. Let's take a look.

We'd like to welcome back Laura, the interior designer and avid DIYer behind Pear Design Studio. Laura struck gold with her recent Clients. She was contacted by two loving parents-to-be who were looking to give their future daughter a stylish nursery. After meeting with the parents, the goal was to create a luxurious nursery with a french chic vibe. There were two decor items that Laura felt this space needed, which were a stenciled accent wall and a collage wall. To find the perfect stencil, she browsed our online collection and fell in love with the French Poem Allover Stencil, a french typography pattern. Laura decided to paint an accent wall behind the crib. First she painted the back wall a soft white, similar to Benjamin Moore's simply white OC-117. Then she used blue painters tape to adhere the stencil to the wall and painted the french script pattern in a metallic gold. Laura poured her paint into a paper plate and painted the pattern using a dense foam roller. After each section was painted, she would reposition the stencil to paint the next section. She did this until the entire accent wall was painted. Then she stepped back to admire her gorgeous work! Once the stencil was complete, Laura decorated the nursery using adorable gold animals, a petal pink chandelier, and heartfelt wall art. She commented, "A nursery worth its weight in GOLD! We are in LOVE!" Ready to see how this french chic nursery turned out? Laura had this to say about her stencil project, "This was one of the easiest stencils we have ever painted.
