A Myriad Allover Stenciled Bathroom Makeover
Stenciling A Bathroom With The Myriad Allover Stencil
Good morning, my Cutting Edge Stencils! We love a fabulous wall pattern. While wallpaper is a common way to get add pattern, it's pricey and a hassle to apply and take down when you tire of it. Stencils are a great alternative to wallpaper because they are easy to apply, can be customized to the space, and inexpensive! Let's take a look at a bathroom makeover using one of our newer stencil patterns, the Myriad Allover Stencil.
We'd like to welcome back Sara, the creative DIYer behind the blog Sincerely Sara d. Sara decided to give her daughter's bathroom a makeover. She commented, "I love decorating bathrooms because they are spaces where you can have a little more fun and test creative limits." While Sara typically paints a color on her walls, she decided to try something new and paint this bathroom white. She felt white would brighten the bathroom and then she could dress it up with fun accents. Here is what the bathroom looked like before the makeover. Plain and simple, it was no wonder that Sara wanted to add a dose of personality! Sara put together an inspiration board. With her inspiration board in hand, Sara was ready to get started! Rather than purchase a pricey wallpaper for the bathroom, she chose to use a wall stencil and paint. Sara said, "I get tired of wallpaper pretty easily, so stencils are perfect for me. I can have pretty patterned walls but I can just paint over them when I grow bored instead of stripping wallpaper." Sara painted the bathroom a soft white using Behr's Marquee paint in Whisper White. Once the bathroom was painted Sara was ready for the fun part, stenciling! She had chosen the Myriad Allover Stencil, a playful contemporary pattern. Sara liked this pattern because, "I love all the dalmatian spots I’ve been seeing in home decor, and this is that same look with a little quirkiness." Sara used painters tape to hold the pattern in place and painted it in black using a dense foam roller. After she painted each section, she would carefully remove the stencil to reveal her pretty Myriad Stencil pattern. After all the stenciling was complete, Sara added her decor elements. She made a DIY shower curtain that you can read about here, hung some inspiration wall decor, and some touches of green. Ready to see how it all turned out? Here is Sara's stenciled bathroom.
