A Stencil Design Adds Subtle Beauty To A Room

We'd like to introduce Kayla, the beauty and fashion enthusiast behind the blog Kayla Michele Beauty. Beauty and fashion often transcend into home decor so it was no surprise that a beauty expert like Kayla, would want her home to be super stylish. Years ago she had painted it lime green with hot pink accents. Her tastes have since changed and she longed for an update that included cool-toned neutrals. She painted her bedroom a cool gray hue from Valspar. The fresh coat of paint gave the space a fresh new look.
Rather than stop there, Kayla wanted to also add an accent wall. She mentions on her blog, "I wanted to do something different and make the back wall with the window an accent wall. So, I looked online for
wall stencils." A stenciled wall pattern is an easy and cost effective way to add visual interest to a room. Kayla browsed our large collection of
Moroccan stencils and fell in love with the
Marrakech Trellis Allover Stencil, a popular Moroccan wall pattern.
With her walls painted gray and her design in hand, she was ready to start
stenciling. She used painters tape to hold the stencil in place on the wall. Then she poured her paint, light gray paint, into a small tray and painted with a dense foam roller.
Once the stencil was complete, Kayla stepped back to admire her beautiful work. She continued to pull together her bedroom makeover with a new set of curtains and wall decor. Let's take a look at how this beautiful bedroom turned out.
