Welcome back, my color enthusiasts! Since Pantone announced Radiant Orchid as the Color of the Year for 2014, we've spotted an array of dusty purples, from lilac to lavender, blooming in home decor. Cutting Edge Stencils is a huge fan of these sweet shades of purple. While we often associate light purple with little girls, we're seeing this appealing hue pop up in adult spaces,like a home office, as well. Dusty Purple Stenciled Home Office

We'd like to welcome back Beth, the creative interior designer and home staging guru behind B. at Home Staging & Design. You might remember this orange-infused, Rabat stenciled pantry that we shared on our facebook page. Beth said her "client's busy family loves to cook, but their dark, dilapidated pantry was not inspiring." She energized the boring pantry with color and pattern.

I know we promised to show you a dusty purple makeover, so let's take a look at a more recent project. Beth was working with a client who needed a home office update. Beth met with her client, who said, "I need to be inspired to be more productive in my office. I'm not afraid of color--how about purple?" It was music to the designer's ears! She chose to paint the office a color similar to Benjamin Moore's inspired AF-595. Then she added a stenciled accent wall using our Chelsea Allover pattern, a stylized acanthus leaf design, in a color similar to Benjamin Moore's simply white OC-117. Beth brought in a work island and hung a vintage chandelier from Ekster Antiques above it. The bulletin board that you see hung on the wall was custom made using an elegant, re-purposed frame. Remember that small window in the before shot? Well, Beth painted a pair of shutters from Weathered Elegance and added a mirror for a unique window treatment. The gentle purple hue, elegant wall pattern, and feminine decor accessories complete the look of this home office.
