Stenciling An Office Using the Marrakech Trellis Stencil

Happy Friday, my DIY decorators! Cutting Edge Stencils wants to know how many of you enjoy going to the dentist's office? We thought so. It's not exactly a place that most of us go running to willingly. Well that might change after you see the stylish, smart and stenciled dental office we have in store for you today! Come take a look. We'd like to introduce you to Jamie, the creative DIYer and decorator behind the blog Jay's Cup. Jamie was hired by a local dentist to give his office a makeover. Here's a snapshot of the before. Looks like a traditional dental office to us, right? Just wait till Jamie gets her hands on this space. First, she decided not to paint the cabinets which were a teal color. That meant that teal was a color that needed to be included in her color palette. Jamie knew she wanted a work space that was calm and sophisticated, so she put together this color scheme. Jamie chose to use seafoam green with gold highlights in the main waiting room. She said, "For the dental office, I wanted a surprise element when patients walked through the front door. This stencil was perfect." She's talking about our Marrakech Trellis Allover stencil. She decided to paint the Moroccan pattern in Behr paint's Balmy Seas. She used blue painters tape to hold the stencil pattern in place and a dense foam roller to paint the pattern on the wall. Here she is working through the stenciling process. ** If you're recreating this project at home, be sure to off load your roller on a piece of paper towel to ensure your roller has a minimal amount of paint. Too much paint will cause your design to bleed. Once the stencil was complete, Jamie added some decorative touches like the patterned chair, gold capiz light fixture, teal ottoman, and watercolor paintings. Ready to see what the new office looks like now? Here is the stylish and sophisticated dentist office! This is the other side of the space. We love how the colors flow in this space. Oh, and if you continue through out the office, you'll spot something special inside the patient's room. Jamie commented, "I love wall stencils as a design element (yup, I hand-painted it)!"
