An Otomi Allover Stenciled Laundry Room Wall
Stenciling An Accent Wall In A Laundry Room
Good morning , my stenciling friends! There are some days we feel like we never leave the laundry room. Washing, folding, and sorting seem like chores that never end. The laundry room also tends to be one of the most neglected rooms in a home when it comes to decorating.
Cutting Edge Stencils finds this fact to be absolutely crazy! A space that we spend so much time in should be decorated to the nines. Maybe that's a slight exaggeration. The good news is that stenciling an accent wall is easy and inexpensive. Today we have a stenciled laundry room wall that will hopefully inspire you to bring your space to a new stylish level. Let’s take a look...
We'd like you to welcome back Leslie , the clever DIYer and decorating enthusiast behind the blog
House On The Way. Not too long ago, Leslie painted an accent pillow using the Hourglass Paint-A-Pillow kit. Remember
this?
After stenciling that lovely accent pillow, Leslie must have been bitten by the stenciling bug. The laundry room has been on her laundry list of to-do projects since last Fall and she was ready to make some changes. She started this project with basic white walls. As she was pulling together the essentials for this project, which mostly included organizational items, she realized it was missing something. An accent wall! Leslie browsed our site and fell in love with our
Otomi Allover Stencil, a popular tribal inspired pattern from traditional Mexican textiles.
Once Leslie had her paint and stencil in hand, she was ready to go. She used painters tape to adhere the stencil to the wall. Then she poured her paint into a paper plate and painted with a dense foam roller.
She painted the trendy pattern a khaki color similar to Benjamin Moore's
stratton khaki DC-15.
Wondering what the secret was to her stenciling success? Leslie had this to say about the clip-on stencil level that was included in her
Stencil Essentials Kit, "I really loved using the stencil level because so often, our ceilings and walls are not always level themselves. This helps create the perfect stencil design on any wall."
Once the stencil was complete, she put everything back in place and added some metal shelving with wicker baskets. Ready to see how it all turned out? Here is Leslie's Otomi stenciled accent wall.
She had this to say about her newly stenciled space, "I love the pattern. The mix of animals and flowers are so fun but also give a classic look to the space. Going with a khaki as the accent color allows me to keep a simple, subtle look in the space." Here is a close up the pretty stencil pattern.
Awesome job, Leslie! Be sure to check out all of her projects on her
blog.
