The Birds in Trees wall stencil does all the work for you, all you need is your paint color (ours is Black by Benjamin Moore) in a flat latex finish. spray adhesive on stencilBefore you begin stenciling, put blue painters tape on your baseboard and apply repositionable spray adhesive to the back of your wall stencil. Spray adhesive, one of our favorite stenciling necessities, is used to help your wall stencil stick to the wall and reduce any chance of stencil seepage that might occur under the wall stencil. You can reapply the spray adhesive after every two or three repeats. wall stencil on wall Place your tree stencil at the bottom of your wall, as close to the baseboard as possible. Make sure your wall stencil in completely straight by adding a Clip-On Stencil Level, to the top of your wall stencil. painting on a wall stencilEvenly load a 4” dense foam roller for stenciling with your paint on a paper plate. Roll on light layers of paint instead of one thick one. Because we placed the stencil overlapping the baseboard, we are going to take a ¾” Professional stencil brush and pounce the brush into the corner while holding the stencil still, for nice crisp lines. brush on wall stencil When you’re ready to work your way up the wall, choose the thickest part of your previously stenciled branch, and connect with a similar size portion of your other branch stencil.
