Decorating A Hallway With Stencils
Stenciling A Hallway With The Heritage Grill Allover Stencil From Cutting Edge Stencils
Good Morning my DIY lovelies! Just a couple months ago, Cutting Edge Stencils was stressing how important it is to continue the decorating process in the hallway. Remember that post? Well we're back at it again. We know practical hallways connect the spaces in your home, but we think they're blank canvases ready for stenciling. Come admit it, how often do you walk through that neglected hallway and completely dismiss the thought of decorating it? Hallways are easy to ignore, so we certainly understand. Today's post will hopefully inspire us all to look at those areas a little differently. Let's see how one DIY blogger transformed her plain hallway into something fabulous!
Say hello to our pal Jessica, the DIY project queen behind the blog Decor Adventures. Jessica lives in Upstate New York and if you've been watching the weather channel, then I'm sure you've heard the term polar vortex about a thousand times already. Polar vortex sounds like a pretty scary term. In fact, we're sure it's inspired the folks over at Great Adventure to create their next thrill seeker ride. You know what else the freezing cold temps have inspired? Jessica to makeover her hallway! Having to spend a ton of time indoors forces you to take a good look around and notice all the nooks that have yet to be decorated. Jessica said, "Although I love the walls in my old home, I was getting a little tired of their lack-luster look and decided a stencil would be the perfect opportunity to spice things up." We can't argue with that. Here is a before shot of the hallway from both directions. Since it's a hallway, Jessica wanted to have some fun with its design to make it stand out more. She chose our Heritage Grill Allover Stencil. You can read the step-by-step process on her blog but here is a quick snapshot of what she used. The hallway was already painted Creamy Mushroom by Behr. She stenciled the contemporary Moroccan pattern in Pure White by Annie Sloan Chalk Paint. Are you ready to be WOW'd by the after shot? Here is Jessica's stunning hallway after its stenciled makeover. AH-mazing, right? The Heritage Grill Allover Stencil adds just the perfect amount of eye-catching interest to the practical space. Jessica says, "I’m totally happy with how it came out. It definitely spices up my view." We're so happy that she loves her stenciled hallway! Oh, and after all the stenciling was complete, Jessica added some personal decor elements. As it turns out, her husband is a graphic designer and illustrator, so they decided to showcase some of his original artwork on the walls. Perfecto! PS. Jessica is hosting a $50 Cutting Edge Stencils giveaway on her blog. Make sure you enter! So tell us what you think, would you stencil your hallway? Leave us your thoughts in the comments below!
