Good morning, my sleeping beauties! With temps here in Northern NJ still below freezing, we totally understand if jumping out of bed is more difficult than usual. Fortunately, this blog post can be read from the comforts of your snugly bed but be warned, what we're about to share might kickstart your desire for a bedroom makeover. Today we’re going to take a look at a master bedroom transformation that is a real show-stopper. Remember when
Cutting Edge Stencils shared the shabby chic furniture trend that we were seeing? Here's a
Zamira stenciled dresser that might trigger your memory...
A dresser as lovely as this one is hard to forget, right? It was stenciled by Melody, the interior designer and fabulous DIYer behind the blog
My Passion For Decor. If you think her dresser is gorgeous, wait until you see her newly revealed master bedroom makeover featuring one of our allover stencil patterns! We promised a show-stopper, didn't we? We are here to please today! There’s something about the combination of the vintage chic decor paired with the delicate Moroccan pattern that makes this space stylish and charming.
Let's back up for a minute and start from the beginning with this makeover story. Melody and her husband moved into their home four months ago. They both agreed that the bedroom had potential but it did not reflect their personal style. To be honest, Melody hated the yellow-green color. She said it made "the room feel huge and cold. This is a really big room and I wanted it to feel warm, cozy and a bit romantic." Here is the room she started with...
Melody knew she wanted to create an accent wall behind her bed. She was considering all of her options from a wood planked wall to wallpaper but she feared the commitment and price of both. Lucky for Melody (and us), she remembered, from her furniture project, how FAB our wall stencils were from her furniture project. She selected the large size of one of our super popular Moroccan patterns, the
Marrakech Trellis Allover stencil. First she painted her walls using Benjamin Moore's
dolphin AF-715, then she stenciled the pretty pattern using Sherwin William's creamy in a satin finish. Melody used a stencil brush to apply the paint instead of a foam roller. She liked this option because she felt it gave her a little more control over the stencil and paint.
And WAHLA! Don't you wish a master bedroom was that easy? Here is the finished room. See we told you this bedroom was a show-stopper!
PS. Did you notice a certain stenciled dresser adding to the vintage charm of this master bedroom? Yup, that's the
Zamira stenciled shabby chic dresser that we highlighted earlier. Gorgeous, isn't it?
